My mother had her Gall Bladder removed ten years ago and the scar it left has always been numb, Now the numbness is spreading to the right of the scar. I was wondering if we should be worried or if this is normal. What could be the cause of numbness in scars. Why would the numbness spread years after the surgery?
Numbness may be due to the fact that nerve fibres have not regenerated in the scar tissue.
This is something common . There is nothing to worry. It is not due to unskilled surgery.
You can always contact a doctor for further clarification, specially why it is spreading.
