last summer, i scraped my knee really bad on a rock. even though i tried my best to treat it, it left a big scar right below my left knee.


it has gotten a little lighter. and i try my best to use cocoa butter, but i get lazy. anything i could use besides cocoa butter on this scar?What is the most effective way to get of huge scars on legs?

Go see a dermatologist if you want to get rid of scars. It should be obvious that dermatologists have access to newer and stronger medications as well as the ability to refer you to a surgeon should you opt for surgical scar removal. Though, most doctors who see that a patient is concerned about the appearance of a scar will point them towards over-the-counter scar treatments.





Silicone based scar sheets manufactured by companies like Neosporin can get rid of scars, to a point. Scar sheets need to be used for at least 8 weeks, wearing each sheet for at least 12 hours a day, changing the sheet every 3-4 days. If your scar doesn鈥檛 clear up after 8-10 weeks of use, chances are it鈥檚 not going to go away any time soon. Scars take time to heal, time for the old skin to slough away and new skin to replace it.


Neosporin Oinment does not get rid of scars as some websites have suggested. I have a huge scar on my stomach. 20 inches long an 5 inches wide. I can't do much for mine, it's an internal scar, not external. There are also no nerve endings in mine.





It takes a while to get rid of scars without surgery (skin graphs) every day when you get up and every night when you go to bed rub the scar with moisturizer or aloe. I don't know if the medicated helps or not.





The scar will start to get soft after a few months.... then it will start to fade. While it won't dissipate completely you will see it fading until it's tiny.
ok, so i have the sama rpoblem u do, because i play soccer without shinguards a lot and then the other people's cleats really beat up my legs and they are filled with scars......what i use is coconut oil, it really just makes your scars disappear, also exfoliating with like a lufah (sp?) really helps as well and u can do this in the shower and i nvr forget toooo.....i used to use cocoa butter and cofrogt as well.....also go to your dermatologist they can reccomnd brands like neosporin for scar removing pads and all. well..hope this helps! and if u have anymore questions or just want to chat email me at neon_rainbow99@yahoo.com THANKS!
I'm using Bio-Oil for some scaring from a similar accident and it seems to be working; it says it'll take at least 3 months but I've only been using it a month and it's already going down. I'd really recommend trying that; I'm really amazed to be honest. Good luck!
the most affective method is using petroleum jelly or Vaseline brand because it's made from animal fat and vitamins so your body recognizes it as an extra layer of skin so it will try to heal faster.


Or Neosporin.
did u get a tan after u got the scar? if u did its almost impossible to get completely rid off try mederma and see wat a dermotologist thinks
Use mederma, it's expensive but it works ..also u have to keep applying it to the scar
