How can you get rid of scars that are flat and smooth?

I have scars that are flat and smooth, but they are still darker than the surrounding skin and are very noticeable. Is there any (relatively cheap) way I can get them to fade/go away? They've been there for like a couple of years too, so they're not new.

Virgin Coconut oil and Pure Vitamin E Oil REALLY helps with scars and stretchmarks and its quite cheap, i have been using them for just over a month now on a scar and it has visibly reduced the darker colour around the area.





I got my coconut oil from ebay, it comes as a solid lump and then it melts when you touch it. Its just as good as Bio-oil but half the price!How can you get rid of scars that are flat and smooth?
