How can I cover scars on black horse?

My Black thoroughbred rolled near a fence and cut his back leg about 2 months ago. It has nearly all closed up but im worried that it may scar. I want to use him as a show horse, any ideas on hiding the scars if he has any?How can I cover scars on black horse?
As it heals, rub Vitamin E cream or oil on it and then when you show, you can get black spray from Sallys or Valley Vet to cover it up.

We did it all the time with show horses. How can I cover scars on black horse?
I dont know what regulations your local shows have about dye on horses.

First of all ask your vet! If he or she is an equestrain themselves they may have some good ideas?

Be completlely honest if any judging officials aks you about whether you're using dye or makeup ! Explain why!

Depending on where the scar will be and whether it heals as white hairs or bare skin have you considered switching to dressage / costume events ?

Whatever you decide read the fine print in the judging and show category regs and rules!
i use black shoe polish..do a test patch first, it does actually work. my mare is black and had a nasty scar too
Put Vaseline on this cut every day. Vaseline is the most healing thing on the market. If you do not grease that place, white hair will come back on it (if it hairs over at all). Old timers used bacon grease, but salt in it stings.

I have used this for over 40 years and it works!
I used Black Shoe Polish!!

If White then use Baby Power or White shoe Polish
Use pure Vitamin E oil to minimize scarring. That will also be safe to put on during the healing process.
Black spray paint
covering scars on a black horse, seems like it would be illegal in a show to use enhancements. Cutting horses are not judged for their color, only performance. You did not state what show competitions you were considering. If it has been 2 months, he should be almost healed, Blue Lotion is used on injuries, the purple stuff., there is also a medicine for proud flesh, which is when the scar comes back in crusty.

The hair should be back by now, my black gelding did the same thing and the hair did come back in black. Some horses come in white, I would not worry about the scars at this time, pick an event that does not judge if the horse is pretty as in a halter class.
Mascara. Blow a bit of dust onto it if its too shiny.
Are the hairs coming in white yet?

There is black spray paint that they use on sheep to blacken their legs. I think that would help immensley.

If its just scabby scar tissue, not real sure how to hide something that obvious. I would still try that sheep paint and see how it goes, but would make sure the area was completely healed before I did it.
We use black shoe polish to hide the scars on our horse during showtime but you can get ointments and creams that reduce the apprearance of scar tissue. Have a look around and ask your vet, if you put it on before the wounds close completely they'll work to an even greater effect. We had a horse take a fist sized chunk out of her chest, we put the ointment on everyday and she has a small scar on her chest thats about 7-10cm long and about as thick as the width of a ball point pen. Not bad considering we didn't think she'd make it at all. :) Sorry I can't remember the name of the ointment. Lol. Ask around and talk to your vet.
use a special purple spray i cant memver wat its called but it heals the worst of scars

for shows just use black horse make up but if its still raw dont use it
on our farm we had bare spots on some of our horses %26amp; we used a product called ';Blue Coat.'; This helped the hair regrow. I don't kmnow if this stuff's stuill around or not but it's really good %26amp; worx well.
